Art flows through the veins of Killarney Art Gallery owner Declan Mulvany in a creative family bloodline that dates back to the 19th century, when in 1885 Dominic Mulvany, Declan’s great-grandfather, started a Picture Framing and Gilding business in Dublin, setting in motion a four-generation artistic family tradition that thrives to this day.
Declan joined the family business in 1978, learning the skills and intricacies of the trade under the watchful eye of his father Paddy Mulvany, a master craftsman of renown, before eventually setting out to open his own business in Killarney in 1990.

Today, in Killarney, paintings by many of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists hang alongside works by some of the Great Irish Artists of the past in this highly acclaimed boutique gallery in the heart of the magnificent Kingdom of Kerry.
Declan’s passion and expertise have firmly established the gallery’s reputation nationally and internationally — due in no small part to his ability to identify, nurture and promote the most talented of Ireland’s emerging artists.
